New Mexico Death Records Search

You may request death records from the New Mexico Vital Records and Health Statistics office. You may also visit the below website address and process your order directly:

You will need to provide the following to assist in the search for the death records:
• Name of the person as it appears on any records
• The city where the death was recorded
• The time and if possible the exact date

You may request for death records may be processed over the counter at the Santa Fe Office. You will need to complete an application which is available at the counter (you may also download and print it on-line) and provide adequate reasons for requesting the records plus provide identification.  Make your certified check or money order payable to “New Mexico Vital Records.”

There is a $5 charge to search for all death records. Additional fees will apply to obtain legal certified copies of the record. You may also request them from: Death certificates are available:
