New Jersey Death Records Search

All death records can be ordered from the State Bureau of Vital Statistics and Registration. You may view the official website here:

You must provide the following death records:
• The name of the person as it appears on the record
• Where the death occurred (city name)
• The date the death occurred

In some cases it may take up to four months to receive a death certificate from New Jersey. If you wish to pay by a credit card, this timeline may be expedited slightly. You may also pay the fee on-line.

Remember, you must have permission to request an official death record from outside of the U.S. You must also have an adequate reason for requesting a death record. The VitalChek website is a great resource if you wish to obtain a death certificate quickly. Keep in mind additional feels are applied.
