Arkansas Death Records

After 1, Feb 1914, all the birth and death records within the Arkansas State are in the safe custody of Division of Vital Records, Arkansas Department of Health, and State of Arkansas.

An application on a prescribed form issued by Division of Vital Record, containing the queries about the full name of the deceased, date of death, the county or city of the where death occurred, the name of the funeral home (optional), the relationship of the applicant’s with the deceased, purpose for obtaining the certificate along with the check or money order in favor of Arkansas Department of Health as a fee may be forwarded to obtain a copy of death certificate in the state of Arkansas.

The State of Arkansas Act 20-18-305 protect the safe custody of death records as confidential particularly of those death records whose age are less then 50 years and allowed only those who have legal rights to obtain the certificate, the deceased designated representative, academic research groups.

death certificate cost $10 for the first copy and $8 each per additional copy. $10 is a search fee to the State, which is not refundable. In case the record not found applicant might claim refund of fees paid over and above $10.
Except cash, other means of payments such as major credit and debit cards, money orders, cashier’s check in favor of Arkansas Department of Health are acceptable.
